Our goals are:
To become the official Surry county chapter of the IGDA (International
Game Developers Association), an international game development
community dedicated to improving developers careers and lives through
community, professional development and advocacy.
To send members to game development events, conferences and
competitions all over the US.
To acquire industry guest speakers for SGD classes and SGDG meetings.
To develop projects for submitting to independent game development
competitions.
To network with industry professionals and hobbyists with similar goals
To create a club website that will provide links to members work and
helpful information for new students
To prepare members for employment in the game industry
To sponsor fun fund raiser events like game tournaments and fairs
Why join the Surry Game Development Group?
The Surry Game Development Group helps its members gain the tools and
skills necessary to develop into productive members of the industry. The
club helps students and members turn game ideas into working software
and sponsors fun events for gamers.
